CPR and First Aid Certification

FREE CPR TRAINING

This summer, the Miami Valley faced two disasters that threatened the lives of Dayton citizens. Would you know what to do if a loved one collapsed suddenly in front of you? CPR can be the difference between life and death, and the YMCA of Greater Dayton is making it easier than ever to get trained!

In solidarity with #DaytonStrong, the YMCA of Greater Dayton will offer FREE CPR training to help save the lives of friends and family in any situation. Anyone can learn CPR – and the YMCA of Greater Dayton believes that everyone should! 70% of Americans feel helpless to act during a cardiac emergency because they either do not know how to administer CPR or their training has significantly lapsed.

Unfortunately, we never know when a tragedy can strike, but we can all make sure we are prepared.

To sign up for the upcoming FREE CPR training, click on the date below to sign up via the Eventbrite links. Registration for the free classes is first come, first served. Most classes are 2.5 hours long. Spots are limited to 10 per class unless otherwise specified below.

**ALL FREE CPR CLASS OFFERINGS ARE FOR ADULTS ONLY. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO REPLACE A REQUIRED TRAINING FOR CERTIFICATION FOR A JOB. THIS IS A BASIC CPR FOR ADULTS PROGRAM.

CPR & Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Fact Sheet from American Heart Association

Anyone can learn CPR – and everyone should! Sadly, 70 percent of Americans may feel helpless to act during a cardiac emergency because they either do not know how to administer CPR or their training has significantly lapsed. This alarming statistic could hit close to home, because home is exactly where 88 percent of cardiac arrests occur.

Put very simply: The life you save with CPR is mostly likely to be someone you love.

Don’t be afraid; your actions can only help.

If you see an unresponsive adult who is not breathing or not breathing normally, call 911 and push hard and fast on the center of the chest.
